On the biggest of them the sizing looks closer to agricultural well drilling than to a standard house well.
The second is the aquifer. New Berlin sits over the same deep sandstone that has been studied across Waukesha County for naturally occurring radium, and finished depth is a decision informed by that history rather than made by default. Nearer the Root River headwaters, shallower formations sometimes yield well enough to change the calculation entirely, so we settle the interval before any well drilling begins.

Acreage changes the specification. A house, an irrigation system, and outbuildings pulling at once produce a peak flow that a standard residential design cannot hold. We size against combined demand and confirm the well can sustain it under extended pumping, not just during a brief test. Getting that wrong shows up in August, not in May.
Pressure complaints are the most common call we get from this side of the city, and the pump is guilty less often than people assume. A waterlogged tank, a failing switch, restricted plumbing, or a pump set at the wrong depth all produce similar symptoms.
